The mission of the Office of Diversity Initiatives is to assist the University of Central Florida in reaching its strategic goal to "Become More Inclusive and Diverse" by facilitating diversity processes, programs, and policies that promote social justice, enhance cultural competencies, and develop capacious leaders. Our students, colleagues, and constituents represent diverse peoples and perspectives across multiple generations.
This mission is supported by the following five goals:
Offer the UCF community educational and training experiences to expand awareness, knowledge, and cultural competencies that aid in understanding and maintaining domestic diversity.
Serve as a resource for and work with UCF colleges, divisions, departments, and the highest levels of administration to establish structures, policies, and procedures that support diversity and inclusion.
Provide leadership experiences for students, members of the faculty and staff, and external constituencies which emphasize the development and progression of women and people of color.
Promote opportunities for faculty members to develop a pedagogically sound curriculum that reflects the pluralism of U.S. society.
Foster collaborations, research projects, and partnerships with campus, community, national and international entities in the area of domestic diversity.
Our vision is to position UCF as a center of excellence that is nationally recognized as a higher education model for its practices, policies, and attitudes in the area of domestic diversity.
